Our story started about 60 years ago now in the small town of Alicedale in the Eastern Cape. When My dad, Jan Paul Barnard, first learned about this fibre- the hair from the Angora goat, he fell in love with it. He was just 23 years old when he started the mohair factory.
Please follow these steps to keep your Barnard Mohair piece looking great for years to come. Mohair is a natural fibre and requires very little washing. Lanolin is a natural oil that protects the mohair fibre from absorbing dirt, repels moisture and hence minimal washing is required.
