Mohair is a natural fiber that comes from the Angora goat.
The fiber construction is very similar to silk, and therefore has to be handled with care.
Mohair has a natural resilience to dirt and dust called lanolin. This protects the fiber ensuring it won’t easily get dirty.
Once it’s time for a wash, we’d recommend following the following washing instructions.
WASHING
All products should be HAND WASHED only with cold or lukewarm water and a mild detergent. We recommend using hair shampoo (the cheapest) or a Woolite detergent.
Soak the product in a basin or bathtub with hair shampoo for about 30 to 40 min before washing. Gently HAND WASH the product, and rinse out with fresh water.
Squeeze excess water from the product, and lay the product out flat to dry on a towel in the sun. Do not wash on a wool cycle in the washing machine.
The product can also be dry cleaned.
